    hey there...

You guys in Beantown are very lucky in that you now have a great researcher and clinician in your area. Dr. Alice Gottleib is now at Tufts. She is a well-known researcher, and from my experience, a terrific doc....

I used to see her at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.

    Hi Kelly,

She's great. A derm, rhuem and researcher all rolled into one. World renowned..

Dr. Alice has spoken at our support group in the past and we've done some events with her as support group leaders. Her office is always in touch with us giving updates on the latest clinicals, her door open for emergency patients appointments and an ear.

We have some TRULY wonderful brilliant doctors in our area. Dr's Mody & Quereshi from Brigham & Woman's who hold a clinic every wed as a team...derm & rheumy...Dr. Sobel who is also well known in psoriasis circles, Dr. Shama extraordinary speaker, Dr. Kimball, Dr. Trevalor... geesh the list goes on and on.

I have friends who come to see Dr. Alice Gottlieb from other states...amazing.

    Take care,
    Karen

    Hi Piper,

I too just tried to log in and had an error message, so I tried www.healthtalk.com and had this message....

The HealthTalk Web site is currently undergoing routine maintenance.

The upgrades we're making today will improve performance and lay the groundwork for a number of new features we'll launch in coming weeks.

We apologize for any inconvenience. Please check back later.

I guess they are down for a bit?....That chat is in August so we have a while * whew * in the meantime you can call the NPF and speak to the advocacy dept for help or actually anyone there should be able to give u information on insurance issues...or at least " try too "

    found this...https://www.spoconline.com/spoconlin...urce/copay.jsp

    hope it helps

    Take care!

Will there be any kind of re-run of this program? At 7pm on August the 2nd I will be in a make-up chair, getting ready to perform in the show "Into the Woods"....and I really need to learn how to plead for assistance from the drug companies and plead for mercy from the insurance company.........

They are actually a tad more expensive.

Remicade ~ a lot of times the insurance co's will pay under a different venue as it's not an " injectable "....

have you tried for help with your co-pay with Enbrel?

    Best wishes,

    Hi Sharon,

Does your insurance have a mail-order company they use ? for some reason ( sometimes ) the co-pays can be less....

and ...Have you tried the other programs ?

    http://www.psoriasis.org/advocacy/as...e/programs.php

I know folks who have rec'vd assistance even with insurance, the problem is I believe that some programs only have so much in funding, monies are set aside for each disease ( P, PA, RA, AS, Crohns etc ) If you don't get to them at the start of thier fiscal year then that funding money goes pretty quickly...

People who work hard for a living should not be penalized and left out of that help. 300 dollars ( well almost 300 ) is a lot of money - period .

Sounds like you would be an excellent candidate for calling into this show...

    Good luck,
    Karen

My insurance started as a normal co-pay, but soon went to 10%. Had to use mail order tho.
