    Psoriasis in the Movies....

I have been a huge fan of "Grease" my entire life. When I was 12 I was diagnosed with P (I'm now 24). I was watching "Grease" and I hear this:
Sandy says: "Still, I'm no stranger to heartbreak".
    Frenchy: "Why, you got psoriasis?"

I couldn't believe it - my favorite movie said something about this horrible skin disease! Just a little tidbit of information for other "Grease" lovers and P. sufferers.

    Have a good day

    'who started that anyways"

Glad you brought that up cuz I was just thinking about that yesterday - excuse me if I sound dumb for not knowing this but ...who coined the phrase "the heartbreak of psoriasis" anyways. I'm assuming it was a commercial for something - somewhere but boy,did it ever stick-that one! This disease needs a more human face on it-these days people seem to not hide so much about themselves, maybe some really famous person will finally fess up - the odds are there...and hey, isn't stress a trigger. The way it looks to me,the entertainment industry looks pretty stressful at times.Just my two cents...but I would like to know about the"heartbreak phrase" ..petey

Alright, alright, alright...I'm "old"(er) so I guess I would know this one There was a big ad that ran back in the 60's....I am not totally sure, but I think it was for Tegrin shampoo. That was the catch phrase "heartbreak of psoriasis". Funny thing....in retrospect that ad was TOTALLY wasted on me. I had no idea what psoriasis was and why it was such a heartbreak

Grease!? You know, the older I get the sillier that movie gets. Just an opinion, nothing more.

Talking 1960s advertising campaign for Tegrin

it originated in a 1960s advertising campaign for Tegrin, a coal tar-based medicated soap. Link to the ad.....

HEARTBREAK OF PSORIASIS/TIME FOR A CURE

I did a web search on the "heartbreak of psoriasis" and there were 3833 pages!!!!

I personally have not seen or heard that phrase used in years. I remember it from an ad on TV back around the 60's.

Heartbreak of psoriasis.......it still is to many. TIME FOR A CURE!!!!!!!!
