LOL,,,for the new people that don't know my history,,,,,,,,,I have had Palmo Plantar Pustular Psoriasis for 42 years. The summer of 2004, my feet were so bad that I used a wheelchair most of the summer.

I have tried everything and more,,,,,,nothing ever helped much and if something seemed to help, it would stop.

Last year I started trying Sally's plan with diet and the Slippery Elm and Saffron teas. I was seeing a little improvement when in August I got a staph infection in my finger. After surgery I had to stay on Ancef(antibiotic) by IV for 6 weeks. My pppp was getting better all the time. When my doc stopped the Ancef he put me on Keflex,,which is an antibiotic in the same family of drugs. I have slowly kept getting better. In February I stopped Keflex for about 3 weeks and got a few new places,,,,,back on Keflex for as long as I need it.

I am walking for short periods of time but try to be careful not to be on my feet for long peroids. I use the motorized carts at stores that have them and have my own scooter for trips to the mall, zoo, etc.

This has been slow but compared to other treatments,,,,,,,I'll take slow! At least I have not had any side affects.

Granny I'm so happy for you....I cannot imagine the misery you and others with PPPP have and are going through! I hope your doc writes this up in some Dermatology newspaper somewhere....you should give him these pix (he probably has his own?) for "evidence"

    Time to dance yet?

Medicine deficiency does not cause psoriasis, but nutritional deficiency might.

Granny, your feet look wonderful! What a trememdous improvement! My right foot looks about the same as yours now (and mine were as bad as yours were!), but I am now tapering off the Soriatane, since I can't deal with the hair loss any longer. I will continue with the narrowband UVB, but I am going to suggest Keflex when I see my derm next as I know it will flare when I go off the Soriatane. I think I've read ALL of your posts, but could you please refresh my memory and tell me the dosage for the Keflex? Congrats to you - isn't it wonderful to be able to walk without pain?

Thanks everyone, I'm not THERE yet but I am very careful with my feet. I am so afraid they will get bad again.

Are antibiotics the only thing you are doing for your PPPP at the moment?

Granny, that is amazing. You must be so thrilled.

I'm having pretty good results with Enbrel (50 mg 2x/week) at the moment, but since I have taken Keflex a bunch of times with no problems, it may be something to consider. I don't have any info about how it would work for PA, though, which was why I started the enbrel in the first place.

    Serge,
I still get pustular places on the side,,,below my ankle,,,,they turn dark before I see them. That means they are already drying up. I put a little clobetasol on them. I use a q-tip so I just get it right on the spot.

I can't begin to tell you what a relief it is not to have those awful pustular places that hurt so bad. And the dry cracking skin,,,,,,

IMHO,,,an antibiotic should be the first choice of medicine for pppp. It has been slow but worth the wait!

    I am still on Keflex.

    BTW,,,my hands are clear!
