Raptiva Users - I have a question for you

    Hi all,

I have been using Raptiva for about 3 months now for my PPPP. My progress is fantastic...I am almost 100% clear. HOWEVER, there is always a catch, right? I have started to develop small patches of a new kind of psoriasis on my neck, back, and leg. They have been manageable with Clobetosol for now, but they seem to keep popping up. I had one a few weeks ago and now I have 4! Like I said, they are controlled for now, but i always fear the worse...

Has anyone who is using or previously used Raptiva also had this happen to them? I know it was a risk I took a chance on when i started using this drug. Thus far, it is not bothering me too much. I'm just curious to know if anyone else developed small or more severe types of new P while taking Raptiva.

    Thanks in advance,
    Nicole

Nicole, I have been on Enbrel for 3 months. In one month, I am due to switch to Raptive. Enbrel is not working for me. Although I have not started it yet, my derm said some people do get worse before getting better. And some will continue to develop very small spots throughout use. I hope this is helpful..I am very nervous to go to Raptiva........LOL Jen

    Nicole,
I keep reading about Remicade and Raptiva,,,,,about people getting another kind of p while using those drugs. Too scary for me.

Thanks for the repsonses. I was concerned that i would get worse before I got better (if this drug worked!) before i started raptiva. but, it's been my saving grace. I cleared quickly and have been clear since then. the small patches are doable as long as i can use my hands freely and walk without pain, as it was for me when my P was at its worst. im entering my 4th year since diagnosis and things are FINALLY looking up.

    happy holidays to all...

    Hi Nicole

I had the same problem on Raptiva- I also have PPP (no plantar now, just palmar) and developed plaque while on raptiva- I switched to enbrel- doing ok with it not clear but managable (most of the time)
    Good luck

I am mostly clear, but have several small red spots on my chest that appeared once I started Raptiva. They don't bother me and I don't apply anything to them.

hi i've been on raptiva for about 7 months now and i am experiencing same things. i used to have just normal plaque p. raptiva got rid of those, but instead i started getting a bunch of tiny red patches. i try to put topicals on them, but it's so hard since they're so small! my derm put me on cyclosporine for a month to boost the raptiva.. if that doesn't work then i'm gonna ask him if i can switch to enbrel or something.. [sigh] hope your tiny spots go away!

Yeah, I got those red patches just before Raptiva caused a rapid onset of psoriatic arthritis.

This drug was one of the worst things that ever happened to me.

    Raptiva Flare Up

I used Raptiva for three months, with no result. I then went on cyclosporine
to prevent a flare up, but then when I went off the cyclosporine, I flared,
very badly. (It must be the Raptiva, since I've been on cyclosporine before,
with no trouble.) I have now P in places that have always been clear.
So just be wary of Raptiva.

Yeah I was on Raptiva for about 2 months......didnt notice any changes...no new spots but no clearing either. I did get a bad case of arthritis tho so I got off it. Then I had a HUGE flare up and its basically everywhere now. Im starting Humira today.

Im just saying to those taking Raptiva.......if u have to go off it for some reason.......make sure your taking another medication right afterwards or else u might have a bad bad flare up.
