    A Possible Cure

I have during the last 11 years had Psoriasis, from when i was 7 years old, I have been trying to get rid of it.
Finally now, at the age of 18, I have found a cure, that actually gets rid of psoriasis in under a month.
As a reason to help others, I will name the ointment used to recive my results.

    Diprosalic* Ointment
    betamethasone dipropionate and salicylic acid
Manufacturer : "Schering-Plough" in Belgium but it also says that the facility is owned by the USA

You cannot imagine when i found out from one of my relatives that they had already had psoriasis, but actually got treated using this ointment. At first i thought that he might have treated something else, but after using this for less than a month, i came to see that it worked.

I hope that the people here will be able to benefit from this, and if it helps you, please spread the word, so that many others may benefit.

Extra info: I live in Sweden, but actually came across this ointment when i was on summer vacation in Lebanon, so i do not really know where this ointment can be found, but hopefully soon, when i get a new box and ointment that i will be sending for a friend of mine to try, i will scan the details on the little box, and paper that comes with it.

if you need any more information do not hesitate to ask, my email is georges_selwan@hotmail.com

    Hope this helps

I'm glad you found something that works for you but, there is NO cure for Psoriasis. This is medical fact. The best you can hope for is it going into remission, which yours apparently has. Maybe stuff you found helped do this, maybe it just went into remission on its own. No one can be sure.

After reading your post over again, I can't help but wonder if you providing us with spam. Since you didn't say what the product is. Hmmmmm.

Well after getting two responses, and the last one being a but of an upset to me, but i can agree to the disbelief.
I do not wish to harm anybody, neither would i have posted it if i would not have belived that this ointment really works, but to what extent i do not know. What i do know is that it has worked for me. I've tried ontments before without result, and was dissapionted too.
For people who wish for more info, you can find it here.

    http://www.netdoctor.co.uk/medicines/100004838.html

there are probably alot more sites, which you can certainly find if you do a quick search. this one i found was the clearest to understand, and also adresses it for use on Psoriasis.

As for when it started clearing, you can actually see a result from this ointment after 3-5 days after use, applied 2 times daily.

Yet again, I post to you that this is not fake or spam of any kind.
I do not know what i can do to actually confirm some belief ion this matter, but a good thing to do is just ask your doctor about it. If you believe enough in what the doctor says to dicredit it, then fine don't use it. I'm just saying that it worked for me, and that after 11 years i'm finally free. At least we can hope so.

I edited this after i got the the third response, and as i mentioned, i got this in Lebanon, where all medication is found in pharmacies, this ointment did not require kind of perscription. I just asked about it, and tried it out.

    Hi Gees,

Welcome to the Board! Nice to meet you. I'm glad to hear that you found something that works for you. I hope that you stay clear for a long time to come.

I'm not familiar with Diprosalic Ointment, but according to the information in the link that you gave us, Diprosalic ointment has both salicylic acid and betamethasone diproprionate in it. Salicylic acid is one of the few doctor approved methods for removing the scales that accompany psoriasis. Removing the scales always helps the medication work better so that's a good thing. The only caveat that I can think of is that I once burnt myself when I used a salicylic acid product for too many days in a row. Based on that experience, I can tell you that there is nothing worse then a burn on top of psoriasis. So please be careful not to burn yourself!

The other thing is that betamethasone diproprionate is a very strong steroid. Steroids are grouped -- by strength -- into 7 different groups or classes. Each class is assigned a number. The lower the number the stronger the steroid. From what I can tell, betamethasone diproprionate is a Class 1 or Super Potent Steroid. It doesn't get much stronger then tha! Most dermatologists limit the use of the Class 1 or Class 2 steroids to either two weeks max or to the weekends only. That's to avoid side effects such as skin thinning. (Here's a link to a thread that includes a post that has a copy of the NPF's steroid classification chart in it: http://www.psoriasis.org/forum/showt...e+dipropionate.)

Other then those two cautions, I'm glad that diprosalic ointment has proven to be your "wonder drug".

Good luck. I wish you continued clearing. Keep us posted and please don't be a stranger. I look foward to getting to know you better.

Uh...he did say what the drug was, he even gave us the manufacturer. I'm a bit confused with your comment Resist?

Key word is "cure" post count is "2", I would have the same preliminary thoughts.

Best word here is that before trying some special "OTC" psoriasis cure or product discuss it with your dermatologist and ask their opinion.

Products are discussed on these boards frequently but I would like to add that they are typically discussed and brought up in a certain fashion. If you were to email the poster and he would refer you to a commercial source from which the poster personally benefits I think it would be a violation of the board rules.

There is very little spam on these boards and I'm glad that people are on the lookout for it. The internet is a great place but we must always be careful.

This very well could be a genuine post and the product could be with merit, nothing wrong with asking questions about it.

I have personally talked a lot about different products on this site. I always try to say what the product is for, how it works, what it did for me, and to discuss how it is available. If it is rx I refer to the derm, if it is OTC I try to put in at least a few of the larger drug stores. I also like to list the general price of the product too.

When I went to the website on this particular product it seems to be for the scalp. I have no scalp P issues so my guess it that this stuff would be worthless as a cure for my inverse. Just my .02

I am very happy you found something that works for you. However from my experiance. Whatever works for you might not work for everyone. I would not use the word "CURE" when posting on here even with possible attached to it. You would just to get some pool soul's hope up and track down the "cure" you listed and be totally let down when it doesn't work or cause more harm than it does good. (Thanks Mike for listing some medical facts and of course the link)

Just another thing. People usually find this sort of post more as a SPAM or an AD for the "Cure". One of the reason is... that was your first post ever and you have not expressed any concern or post on any other P related posts.

Neither betamethasone dipropionate or salicylic acid cure Psoriasis. They will however reduce the inflamation and scaling. It may clear you for a time but ultimately you can't use a topical steroid forever before it stops working or you cause skin damage.

Georges, I'm glad it helped you. However it did not do much for me. We have had the med. for years. I supposed no one knew the name it is under here.

    I looked it up-----

    Diprosalic ointment
This medicine contains two active ingredients, betamethasone dipropionate and salicylic acid.Betamethasone diproprionate is a type of medicine called a corticosteroid.

    DIPROLENE
This medicine contains two active ingredients, betamethasone dipropionate and salicylic acid.

Betamethasone diproprionate is a type of medicine called a corticosteroid. Corticosteroids are medicines used for reducing inflammation. Inflammation of the skin happens due to the irritation of the skin, and is caused by the release of various substances that are important in the immune system. These substances cause blood vessels to widen, resulting in the irritated area becoming red, swollen, itchy and painful.

    Hello Georges,
It is good to hear that Diposalic Ointment has worked for you. MikeK has provided an excellant post outlining exactly what this ointment is, and how and why it works for some of us. I am very glad that it works for you and I hope that it has allowed you to enter into a remission period that lasts a lifetime. (A very very long lifetime.)

gees & granny,,,yes I also used Diprolene,, I don't remember what it did,, i've used so many...right now and in the last 6 mo. I haven't used any ointments,,and my P is doing ok,,,as long as I do my soaks in baking soda and coconut oil for a moisturizer.

gees,,,have you tryed pure coconut oil for a moisturizer,,,it's wonderful,,nothing else works for me and I tryed averyone on the shelf.

Good luck,,,I hope you stay clear and remember your mind believing & thinking positive,,,, plays a major part,,,so if you BELIEVE your healed than think it,,,I believe in POSITIVE THINKING...............

BTW,,,once your completely cleared check out the altern. site and follow up with some natural solutions that can also benefit you staying clear.... it's a good idea to try and get off those steriod ointments as soon as you can...soometimes you have to gradually stop,,,I stopped completely and had no reaction,,but I immediately started soaking in baking soda...

I also thought "spam" when I first read it.. using Cure and P in the same sentence, and also seeing its the guys first post....made me think SPAM until he posted a response. If he would have remained silent, spammer....

Glad you found your cure for your P, I am still in search of something aside from putting a nasty steroid on 50% of my body.

    MY 2 CENTS!

i just wanted to add that i have had sclap p since i was about 9 years old. i think i got it after a long bought with strep. i was finally diagnosed as a teen ager and started treating it. i also use diprolene. I do not use it everyday. i use it maybe once ever 2 weeks when the p comes back and gets worse. i also have it in my ears and use it there. I get the P to go away and clear up completly but it always comes back. while it works for the p on my scalp and ears it does not work for the p on my backside.

I don't know why one would think "spammer" when he told us what the med is and the company that makes it.
All you have to do is a little research to find out that you have to have a prescription for this med. This medication has been around for several years.

He is not selling it and this is what he said:

    Diprosalic* Ointment
    betamethasone dipropionate and salicylic acid

I thank you all for your support, and currently i am clear of all Psoriasis where it used to be visible. The only thing I have left is my ears, and i don't know what to do about it. I have a temporary cure for it that has some sort of cortisone in it for fast healing, but i have come to see that all cases including cortisone are only temporary. Since Diprosalic is working for me, i was wondering if anybody here knows of an equvalent medication for "inside use" something with the same ingredients but as drops instead of ointment.
Yet again I thank you all, and hope that your Psoriasis clears some day as mine does.

    yes, it does work

Hi everybody. I have been suffering from psoriasis since about 6 years...at first i didnt care much as there were only a few spots ....when i came to know that its hardly curable...i quit taking any medicines...and believed that only Ayurvic treatment would help. But soon after i left India and moved to Middle east (Dubai). I got alamred only when i developed several spots on my neck which were quite visible and embarrassing.
I was on search for a cure. I consulted a few doctors...but of no avail.....once i happen to stop by a pharmecy store and i just asked the guy at the counter if he could suggest an ointment . He handed me diprosalic.......i applied it on my neck and other old and stubborn spots....in a week time the spots on the neck vanished....and in 15 days other spots were all gone except a few knots .....yes its amazing....but there are a few things to be noticed:
    1. It may not work for everybody
    2. psoriasis may reoccur if using diprosalic discontinued for long time
    3. I have bad toe and fingernails because of psoriasis///i dont know how to apply diprosalic under the nails.
    4. is it safe to apply it on face for long time?

I have issues when you use the word "cure". I am glad what you used worked for you and I understand you now said it was a "temporary cure", but still the word cure might be replaced with the word clear or in remission. New members might mistake what you mean and think there really is a cure out there for Psoriasis, when in fact there isn't. Using the word "cure" implies the medication treats the cause of Psoriasis. When in fact all we can do now is treat the symptoms.

Since betamethasone dipropionate is a fairly strong steroid it would be prescription only in the US. There are plenty of OTC shampoos and lotions with salicylic acid in them, though. Also, when people ask about long term use of topical steroids, I think there is a difference between continual use on one area and using it on and off on various areas of the skin. For example, I used Olux on my scalp every day for about a month once and then was told to go off it. This caused a big flare and my scalp ended up worse than ever. You can't use it daily for any length of time. But I have used steroids like Psorcon, Elocon, even Taclonex on different areas as spots come and ago and that doesn't seem to be a problem. If you use anything strong on one area for a long time, you may have side effects including thinning skin.
