I need friends!

Please help me! I am 14 years old and from Pennsylvania. I have been dealing with psoriasis for over a year now. I have it from head to toe, literally. Right now, I am on so many medications- Methotrexate, Embrel (injection), and folic acid. I also go to the tanning salon 3 times a week. The problem is that none of this seems to be helping. Also, I have so many kids who make fun of me and just don't understand. And lately, I've been feeling very depressed. I have friends, but I need people to talk to who understand me. Hello! my name is kimberly.,.. I'm 12 years old... I also had very. very severe psoriasis just a short time ago... I definately know what you're going through. The coincidence is that I am taking exactly the same medication. I did the UVB rays for about a year, but that wasnt working, so I moved to methotrexate and folic acid... Within a week I saw the difference, and ever since then it has only gone up hill. I'm sorry its not working out for you, I hope for all the best! Umm... about the people making fun of you... I wrote this in another thread to another person, but, what the problem is, is that they dont know any better. You need to (even though it might be scary) educate them on Psoriasis... they need to know what it is, how it works, etc, before they can learn to be comfortable with it. So, gather info about psoriasis(psst.. .this site is great for that ) and then... find a way to present it... whats up?i've had p for about 2 (maybe more)years.i hate it..most it is gone tho now.UVB works..that enbrel stuff worked for me ..it took a while tho.give it time,it left a scar for a whle but that went away after a couple of months.my scalp is bad right now..i stoped using shampoo that was medicated because ..i was tired of ..i wanted to used something that smelled good.i wish there was a cure found.well..i'm 12 years old(13 in 24 days)and i'm from alabama.i've played the paino for 6 years and want to play the guitar.and if ya'll want to talk u can email me at dixiegrrl2008@yahoo.com .well i g2g talk to ya'll l8r

My name is Carrie.I'm 18 years old. In May it will be three years since I have been diagnosed. Alot of my good friends teas me about my p I know they do that to cheer me up. My p is probably not as bad as yours it is not sever,but I deal with the syptoms just like you. I know it is hard not to get depressed but if you do you will brek out even more personally this is what i've found out. Just to let you know that someone else is going thourgh the same thing as you. I always remember this verse when I'am down Proverbs 3:5-6

Hola chica! My name's Cassie. I'm 16 and I've had p for about nine or ten years. I'm not teased anymore, I'm just the weird girl with freaky red stuff on my arms.

I stopped using my meds in 8th grade. I just use emu & tea tree oils. It works better and I don't smell like a tar factory.:p

Remember that everything gets better. Not the way you want it to, but the teasing will stop. The wierd looks will eventually go away. Your teachers will stop sending you to the nurse because they think you're dying (personal experience). And life is good.

Hey whats up? My name is Sheri and I'm 17 about to be 18. I have had the affects of P for about a year but was just recently diagnosed. Dont let it bother you. I know harder said then done but you gotta remember that unfortunately P is apart of you and theres no reason to worry about it. If you worry, you will cause yourself stress and break out more. Try medications until you find one thats right for you. Remember that all medications work differently for different people. So it may take some time. And have some patients with the medication. Remember that you have to allow it to get into your system before it will work. Anyways if you need to chat I am here.

I have had pP for a long time ever since 5th grade I'm now a senior in high school. I have put up with alot from peopl and all I have to say is, " who cares?" Be yourself thoise kids who make fun of you lives are so boring that's why they make fun of you. You just need to not care who needs them be the better person and not care and, it really makes them mad when you show you don't care. I hope my advise helps. I feel a bit old to be replying to this (I am 22) (LOL) but I know how you feel I have had the crap since I was 5 and I hate it but I promise SOME peple get smarter with age and you still get looks and stares but I have more friends than I can count and have had several boyfriends (but boys still suck no matter what the age -hahaha- just kidding) when you get "comfortable" with it and your self things just seem to "fall" in place
